Students requesting a specific housing consideration due to a disability, medical or psychological condition must initiate the process no later than Wednesday, March 6, 2013 by contacting Scott Backer in Disabilities Services (sbacker01@wesleyan.edu or 860-685-2332). This includes students who have previously sought a housing consideration and may require one for 2013/14.

Housing assignments in response to a request for a specific consideration are only provided to students who demonstrate a documented disability or medical reason. Competing consideration requests are also prioritized based on medical priority. Please note that housing considerations are only for the student requesting the consideration and may not include current or potential roommates. Housing offers may not necessarily be considered class appropriate or represent your first choice in housing but will address the needs of your disability or medical issue.

If you have any questions, please contact our office at reslife@wesleyan.edu or call us at 860-685-3550.

The Undergraduate Residential Life Committee is accepting proposals for a new program house for next academic  year.  The space available is in 230 Washington.  The building and common areas are shared with Lighthouse.  Floor plans are available at https://www.wesleyan.edu/reslife/housing/program/230_Wash.htm.

The program house proposal form is available on line. Proposals must be submitted to Residential Life by noon on Friday, November 30.  Students interested in proposing a new program house are encouraged to meet with one of the Area Coordinators for Program Housing (contact either Dan LaBonte at dlabonte@wesleyan.edu or Brian Nangle at bnangle@wesleyan.edu ) to discuss their idea and review the draft of their proposal before submitting it.

Proposals must be accompanied by signatures of students who would be interested in applying to live in the house.  Students may be contacted to verify their interest.

Presentations will be made to the URLC on December 4.  Proposals are evaluated based on demonstrated interest of the student community and ability to sustain itself.  The program must complement the mission and celebration statements of Residential Life, available at https://www.wesleyan.edu/reslife/mission_statement.html and https://www.wesleyan.edu/reslife/celebration_statement.html.  The program house selected will be expected to have its application developed by January 25, and participate in numerous recruitment efforts in the spring semester, including the Program House Fair on February 8 and the House Hopping Day on February 17.
